Applications are invited for qualified and experienced Setters who will be responsible for tool changes and setting of movements, maintenance and cleaning of machines and grease guided pins and brushes.
The successful candidates will be responsible for performing the following duties which include but are not limited to the following:
- Tool change and set up of injection mould machine.
- Set up auxiliary equipment e.g. hot water unit, mould temperature and controller.
- Running of machines or products on a correct cycle time.
- Complete change over sheets after completion of each tool change.
- Set up secondary equipment, heat controller, hot water units and chillers.
- Setting different types of injection Moulding machines.
- Understanding of complex automated machines and interpret readings on PLC.
- Must be able to work safely and always consider the safety of others in the workplace.
- Responsible for housekeeping of work area.
- Perform shift hand over
The minimum requirements for this position are:
- Matric and/or Machine Setting or Plastic Injection certificate.
- At least 5 years’ experience in plastic industry, more especially in injection mould setting.
- Sound knowledge of injection mould machines and understanding different types of material.
- Ability to organize and prioritize to meet objectives.
- Mould and maintenance skills
- Problem solving, listening and time management skills
- Good communication, reading and writing skills are required.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to interact professionally with all relevant stakeholders.
